1D10T? Yes. Shakespeare? Not so much

Recently, former Governor of Alaska, former Vice-Presidential candidate, and hopeful leader of the Free World, Sarah Palin, explained her use of the word, refudiate.

According to the former U.S. vice-presidential candidate, her newly created word – ‘refudiate’ – is her contribution to the “living language.”

English is a living language. Shakespeare liked to coin new words too. Got to celebrate it!”

My friend Scottie put it best:

What vile audacity.

[Shakespeare] sure did. He also knew how to use a comma. Although I suspect that had William Shakespeare injected himself into the realm of presidential politics he would be touted for his unmatched brilliance rather than be the cause of countless disappointed sighs. We should be so lucky. Meanwhile, Sarah gives new meaning to MacBeth’s phrase "a tale told by an 1D10T, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
